WALDEN
"Passionate about affordable drinks, accessible food, excellent service and creating a beautiful, comfortable atmosphere."
I don't venture out to East Nashville much as I live on the West side of town and really enjoy the community the West has to offer. However, I have been trying get to East a little more so that I give ya'll good places to visit in every neighborhood, plus it's always good to have spots to go no matter what side of town you're on! The Walden is a new bar that opened up in East, and after seeing pictures of the inside I knew I had to visit!
The Walden is unique in that the wine, beer and cocktails are all on tap. The owners really wanted to focus on creating an affordable menu so all of the drinks are under $10 (Nashville cocktails/wine usually start at $13)! They do have a small menu of snacks that cater to both meat eaters and vegans, the snacks are small so I suggest ordering a few and sharing with a group.
The Walden is a hip bar that gives off a local vibe with a little flare. I really enjoy the dark walls, wooden tables and metal details. Though the space is small, they did a great job of creating an intimate feel. You can choose to sit at the bar, high top tables, lounge area or two cute swings located in the back (very Instagram worthy ;) ).
My Menu Suggestions:
cocktails:
Aperol spritz: I always love a good spritz :}
Vieux Carre
Moscow muleSnacks: remember these are small, you'll need to order a few to share.
Roasted Red Pepper Grilled Cheese
VEggie PIzza
once you've finished playing at walden, I suggest you:
Walk around the corner to The Fox Bar & Cocktail club, this place is the shit! Grab an awesome cocktail!
head back up Gallatin ave and go shopping at kitty nashville.
head to five points area for more bars and restaurants.
If you try out the Walden I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments below!
