Master your Mindset
Why is it so damn hard to think positive sometimes? As humans we live in a society that wires us to think “realistically”, to hold back in fear and play it safe. But that’s not what we’re meant for. Whether you believe it or not we’ve all been placed on this earth with a purpose. All 7.5 billion of us were created for something bigger than ourselves. We aren’t meant to just survive, we’re meant to thrive. To grow and become our highest self, to achieve whatever we set our minds to. How effing cool is that?
The problem is that most of us stand in our way of achieving that. We doubt our abilities, fear the unknown and drown in a rut of self-pity. We’re OK with living a mediocre or sub-par life because it’s comfortable, it’s a safe space that isn’t too risky. Well let me tell you something, life is risky. Don’t shrink back from your desires because you’re too afraid, rise to the occasion and watch your life change. With the combination of positive thoughts, unwavering belief, powerful words and strong action you can achieve anything. ANYTHING.
If you feel like you’re struggling to live your best life and one that you’re really proud of, you’re not alone. I know this, because I’ve been there. The good news for you is that you CAN fix this, all you need to do is wake up to what’s holding you back, release doubt, and make drastic choices about what you focus on, think and speak about, then work your ass off like you never have before.
WORDS
Have you ever been around someone that just can’t say anything positive? That every time you’re with them they always talk about the bad news, how their job sucks, their relationship isn’t working and they don’t think it will ever change. It’s exhausting. And it’s also counter productive. WORDS ARE HUGE. If you say something out loud enough, you begin to believe it. If you’re struggling to get the job you want, instead of taking the easy route and thinking negative, think about yourself in the position. What does it look like and how does it feel? Then instead of saying, “I’ll never make it.”, say “I’m a rockstar and this company will thrive with me working here.” We all have the choice to think what we want to think and take responsibility for the fact that our thoughts create our realities. Get clear and specific on what you desire. What do you do want? When you do you want it? Why do you want it? What will you do to get it? When will you get it by? Start saying out loud all the positive things that are going to come to you, and BELIEVE in it without a shadow of a doubt. Beat the positive affirmation over your head so much that it’s no longer just conscious verbalization, let the creative powers of your subconscious begin to flow.
THOUGHTS
Growing up I was tomboy, the son my dad didn’t yet have. I rocked a bowl cut for the better part of my youth, refused dresses and only wore Umbros with oversize t-shirts, played every sport in the book and strongly opposed anything that would make me seem “girlie”. When my mother signed me up for piano lessons and dance class I lost my ever loving mind, how could she? Those were things girlie girls did, and I was not a girlie girl! I convinced myself right there that I wouldn’t apply myself, that dance and music were stupid and I wouldn’t be a part of it. Eventually I convinced my parents to let me quit and pick up another sport instead. I closed a door before it ever really got opened. Now that I’m an adult (kinda sorta) and I’m one of the only one in the family who can’t play, I so badly wish that I would have had an open mind about piano. What I’m trying it get at is that whatever we make ourselves believe, we experience. When you go into something with a premeditated negative outlook, the experience will be negative. The power of the mind rules over any outside truths. Piano isn’t stupid or girlie, but that’s what I believed, so I robbed myself of enjoying it. If you’re starting a new job, in a new relationship or have no idea what you’re supposed to be doing and you create negative thoughts about it…your experience WILL be negative. Your external world is a mirror of your internal world. If you want things to change, you have to manifest deep positive thoughts about it. Fall in love with your vision of the life you want, and have an unwavering belief that it’s already yours. NEVER LOSE FAITH!
ACTIONS
So now that you unquestionably believe in yourself, think high vibrational thoughts and speak positive affirmations everyday...it’s time to put in the work. Don’t expect to get what you want just by sitting on the couch and thinking life will come to you. You need to go after your dreams with GUSTO! Show the universe that you’re going to do whatever it takes, this will set a serious amount of positive energy into motion. I believe they call that, the Law of Attraction! Do everything you know how to do, but stay open to anything that the universe gives you. Clues are all around you if you’re open to it. What comes out of your mouth, into your mind and done in deed, comes into your life. It’s up to you whether it’s negative or positive. If you think that you don’t have the kind of energy to be positive, you’re wrong. You use that same amount of energy every day being negative by constantly worrying, instead anchor yourself in the things your grateful for...be POSITIVE.
You now have a choice, either continue living your life the way you have, or go full speed ahead towards who you’re supposed to be! I challenge you to only have positive thoughts, beliefs and actions for the next week. Focus your energy on making drastic changes, get out of your own way, and into the life you always desired!
