BAR TACO
It seems only fitting that my first post on where to eat in Nashville is Bar Taco. This was the very first restaurant I went to when I moved here, my roommate had just gotten offered a job and we were ready to celebrate! Since then this has been one of my go-to spots to take family and friends when they come to visit due to it's location, bomb margaritas and beachy ambiance.
With a large outdoor patio that opens up to the inside you'll feel the breeze and the energy of the street goers! The whitewash shiplap walls, contrasting wood, woven basket light fixtures and beachy wall art will give you a lot to look at and talk about.
I HIGHLY suggest the pomegranate and spicy margaritas. While these are so good, beware they are stronger than you think! What I like most about Bar Taco (other than the decor) is the laid back ordering process. Your table will be supplied with menu slips, pencils and a dragonfly card. You'll fill out a slip for yourself or the table, remember the menu is meant for grazing so you don't need to order everything at once. The service is insanely fast so I suggest ordering the guac to start and then a few tacos or a rice bowl. (ask for the avocado secret taco - you won't be disappointed.) If you ever need anything just set the Dragonfly Card up and someone will be at your table in seconds!
Bar Taco is located in the charming 12th South neighborhood where you're sure to feel the southern hospitality!
Once you've finished dining at Bar Taco I suggest you:
Go around the corner and take a picture with the "I believe in Nashville" wall mural. Basic, but necessary if you're a tourist.
Get a cupcake from the Cupcake ATM.
Walk up to White's Merchantile, this modern general store has something for everyone on your list!
